with reference to Hr. Southorn's despatch No.
430 of the 4th October, 1929, I have the honour to enclose
copy of Report No.l of the Fimnce Committee, whic. Was
adopted by Legislative Council on the 24th October, 1929, and
to request Your "ordahip's approval of the items of supplementary expenditure, amounting to 10,092, recommend ed
by the Committee and approved by the Council. These items are explained in the memoranda included in the message
attached to the report.

Itera No.75, which was opposed by all the unofficial ambers of the Finance Comittee, excepting the Honourable Br. J. 2. Braga, was asked for by Government for the purpose of forming a permanent trace of the line of wie proposed circular road from Kowloon, xia Sai-kung, to Sha-tin In this connection, I have the honour to refer Your ord: hi to the seventh paragraph of my despatdı No.420 of the 26th Segumber, 1929, and to the speech which I made in Legislative Council on the 23rd September, 1929, reported ont pages 254 to 235 of the local Hansard, of which I enclose
